We've really enjoyed the TIVO HD after finally getting a good cable card from Comcast on the third try. In the process of identifying the problem as the cable card both the online support information and tech support by phone were helpful. The user interface is much better than on the Comcast/ Motorola HD DVR but changing modes is still a little slower than I would have expected considering that we have very fast (>10 meg/ sec) internet download speeds. The feature set is awesome with streaming from Netflix and You Tube and downloads from Amazon, Blockbuster and more who all charge less than Comcast for their PPV movies. With all these great options, the base unit is a bit short on hard drive memory at 250 gigs, especially in today's HD world. I added the Western Digital 1 Tb memory extender, though, and it hooked up seamlessly and has worked well. Audio and video quality are good, but not Blu ray quality, of course. My son loves the fact that he can access the unit remotely through our whole house network, record programs and download them to his PC for viewing. This feature is definitely part of the units awesomeness. Over all I am very pleased with the product.
